Account Manager – Auckland based 

  • NZ owned and operated company

Chemical Solutions Ltd is a multi-sector chemical cleaning and speciality product manufacturer, particularly well known for its Kemsol brand. CSL is proudly NZ owned and operated, with roots firmly fixed on a kiwi-can-do approach and genuine passion for innovation and creativity.   

Chemical Solutions has more than thirty years’ experience manufacturing quality chemicals for a cleaner environment.  With over 40 national distributors, we also export to a number of countries.  What sets us apart?  High quality, functional products and an absolute focus on customer service, coupled with a genuine belief that people are the company’s most important asset.  The business has grown substantially in terms of customer base and profitability, but the core values remain unchanged.  As well as manufacturing high quality products, and providing a positive company culture for all our people, we are also passionate about environmental initiatives and being a socially responsible business in the local and wider community. 

As a result of growth within the company, we have an opportunity for a talented Account Manager in the Auckland market. 

The role involves: – 

  • Providing exceptional technical and sales support to customers 
  • Understanding their businesses and challenges, and providing product solutions to address them 
  • Achieving sales budgets with existing customers and proactively identifying new business opportunities which fit with the strategic plan of the business
  • Preparing proposals, capturing information in the CRM and writing timely, succinct and informative reports
  • Following a call cycle and successful managing the diary to cover the territory in an efficient and effective way 
  • Building strong relationships with customers, exceeding their expectations and demonstrating the company values in all interactions  
  • Providing training on products, procedures and equipment; and working alongside customers to solve problems
  • Carrying out installations of dispensing equipment and undertaking servicing requirements

Prior B2B sales experience with a technical product is essential for this role, as well as a proven track record of sales success and budget achievement with both existing and new customers.  Food process, food service, laundry or similar knowledge or experience would be a definite advantage, but training can be given. 

What else is required? 

As well as the above, this role requires: 

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills 
  • Exceptional organisation, planning and time management skills with the ability to plan days/weeks/months in advance to maximise efficiency 
  • A high level of professionalism and a track record of positive working relationships and delighted customers

  • The ability to self-motivate with a proactive approach and the ability to create positive outcomes and growth 
  • Good attention to detail in reporting and proposals, follow up and follow through 
  • A team player approach with a “can do” attitude and the desire to make a positive difference
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite) is essential, with exposure to SAP and CRM an advantage 
  • A valid NZ driver’s license 
  • The ability to lift 23kg and skills to carry out maintenance and installation tasks 
  • A level of comfort using basic tools

Account Manager – Lower North Island

  • Wellington or Palmerston North base / lower North Island territory

The role involves: –

  • Providing exceptional sales and technical support to customers and distributors; understanding their businesses and challenges, and providing product solutions to address them
  • Achieving sales budgets with both existing customers and proactively identifying new business opportunities which fit with the strategic plan of the business
  • Preparing proposals, capturing information in CRM and writing succinct but informative reports
  • Building strong relationships with customers and distributors in the region, exceeding their expectations and demonstrating the company’s values in all interactions
  • Providing training on products and equipment, carrying out installations and working alongside customers to provide solutions 

Prior sales experience in the chemical industry is essential for this role, as well as a proven track record of sales success and budget achievement with both existing and new customers.  Food process, food service, laundry or similar knowledge or experience would be a definite advantage.

  • A mechanical mind and high level of comfort using hand tools
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite) with exposure to SAP an advantage
  • A valid NZ drivers license
