Service Technician – Auckland

As a result of continuing growth, we have an opportunity for a Service Technician to join our team in our Chemserv division, servicing customers across the North Island from our base in South Auckland.  Training and mentoring will be provided on the industry, products and customers.

The role involves: –

  • Providing exceptional technical and service support to customers
  • Understanding their businesses and challenges and providing a high level of service to ensure they remain compliant
  • Preparing service reports, conducting site audits, servicing and installations to a high standard
  • Building strong relationships with customers, exceeding their expectations and demonstrating the company values in all interactions
  • Providing training on products, procedures and equipment, and working alongside customers to solve their problems
  • Using problem solving skills to conduct preventative and corrective maintenance at customer sites
  • Monthly trips out of town overnight, 1-2 days at a time. 

Who would be right for this role?

This role would suit someone who is a practical, hands-on thinker with a strong can‑do attitude and a natural ability to solve problems. You should be comfortable working with tools and enjoy taking an active approach to tackling day‑to‑day challenges.

Whilst not essential, a background in a food processing environment, food service, industrial laundry, or a similar industry would be highly advantageous.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is reliable, proactive, and willing to learn.

What else is required?

As well as the above, this role requires:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional organisation, planning and time management skills with the ability to plan days/weeks/months in advance to maximise efficiency
  • A high level of professionalism and a track record of positive working relationships and delighted customers
  • The ability to self-motivate with a proactive approach and the ability to create positive outcomes and growth
  • Good attention to detail in reporting, follow up and follow through
  • A team player approach with a “can do” attitude and the desire to make a positive difference
  • A minimum of intermediate computer skills (Word and Excel with SAP an advantage)
  • A valid full NZ driver’s license
  • The ability to lift 25kg and skills to carry out maintenance and installation tasks

Industrial Chemist – Compliance & Regulatory

An opportunity has arisen for a talented Industrial Chemist focusing on regulatory compliance and technical integrity across the site. In addition, the role will also support quality assurance, product development and technical support for production.

The role involves: –

  • Preparing,  maintaining, and reviewing Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring product labelling compliance and hazardous substances meet chemical regulations
  • Managing and maintaining accreditation and certification compliance
  • Monitoring and interpreting regulatory changes in chemical and environmental regulations and assessing impacts on existing and new products
  • Acting as the technical liaison with regulatory bodies, auditors, and certification agencies. Maintaining and compiling accurate compliance documentation
  • Ensuring products meet all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • In addition, the role will also involve:-
  • Quality and technical support: supporting QA/QC processes, investigating and resolving quality complaints, root cause analysis and corrective actions, providing technical support to production, contributing to product improvement, new product development including new formulation development, performance testing and validation

This role would suit a candidate with the following skills and experience.

  • A minimum Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, applied chemistry, chemical engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in the cleaning, detergent or specialty chemical industry (preferred)
  • A working knowledge of SDS authoring, GHS classification and hazardous substances chemical regulations
  • Experience with regulatory and certification bodies including MPI and ECA
  • Experience with QA/QC systems and lab practices
  • Familiarity with production-scale chemical manufacturing environments (advantageous)

As well as the above, this role also requires:

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to liaise professionally with production, quality, and internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • The ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements pragmatically
  • Effective organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A team player approach with a “can do” attitude and the desire to make a positive difference
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite) with exposure to SAP an advantage
