What do you do at Chemical Solutions and why would your customers call you?
I’m the Marketing Manager and I manage our small but talented, all-round marketing team. We do branding, labelling, communications, and everything in between for our own brands and for our customers’ private brands. Customers call me when they need professionally done, compliant and engaging product labels, along with other marcomms and tools to help them market their products.
What do you like most about your job?
That even after 15 years of working in marketing this job keeps me on my toes, keeps me learning and achieving new skills. That my opinions matter and my decisions make a difference. That I work in a kind and supportive environment. The list goes on.
What is a typical day like?
In the morning I usually check my calendar and my engagements for the day and the rest of the week. Then I check the status of the main and most urgent projects and tasks and troubleshoot if needed. Most of the day is spent working on projects by priority, either with my team or on my own, as well as helping customers and co-workers with any marketing related requests or questions they might have.
What’s a common question you get from customers?
How much time do you need to complete <insert project>? Time management and multitasking are both incredibly important in my job, and I always try to keep an open and honest communication about priorities, expectations, and deadlines.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Spending time with my little boy. He’s a toddler now, and is super active and curious so there’s never a dull moment.
Do you have a hidden talent?
Apparently, I look like a lot of people. The number of times I’ve been told by someone, even total strangers, that they saw me somewhere, or that they’ve met me before, or that I remind them of someone they know, is astounding. It happens all the time, everywhere.
