We often forget how important contact time is when cleaning with chemicals.
Most of the time, we spray, and then wipe off the product straight away.
Doing it like this might mean you’re just wasting product!
Cleaning products often take some time to work.
This is because chemicals require a varying amount of time to sanitise or disinfect different types of bacteria and viruses.
For example, Arctec, a shower and tile-descaling cleaner, requires about 10 minutes to remove calcium and lime deposits.
Whereas Viruclear, a broad spectrum surface sanitiser, requires 60 seconds to sanitise a general surface.
How do you make sure you’re using the right contact time?
Always check the product label for the right contact time to use.
Contact time generally means leaving the surface visibly wet with product. Again, check the label for specific details, as each product is different.
