Miji is our Digital & Graphic Designer who recently joined Chemical Solutions. Learn more about her and the work she’s doing with us.
1. What led you to this next step in your career?
My background is in graphic design and marketing. I started out in retail marketing but gradually shifted into digital and found that it really suited me.
2. What’s one thing that’s surprised you since joining Chemical Solutions?
That everyone that I’ve worked with has had a great work ethic.
3. Coffee, tea, or something else entirely?
Coffee. Just a long black is enough for me.
4. What’s a small thing that always makes your day better?
A slow morning with sourdough bread and peanut butter always makes me happy.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Working out. I usually go to the gym or hit the driving range.
6. Do you have a hidden talent or a fun party trick?
I’m good at reading my cats. I watch how they behave and can tell when something’s off.
7. What’s a favourite quote you live by—or the best advice you’ve ever received?
The truth will set you free. For me, insight brings light.
8. What’s a place that’s shaped who you are—whether it’s where you grew up, travelled to, or lived for a while?
South Korea, Seoul. A vibrant, crowded, and fast-growing city. I spent most of my adult life there, watching it grow and change and experiencing that change myself. It was a rare experience that deeply influenced me.
9. What’s one tradition or dish from your culture that you think everyone should experience at least once?
I would recommend Tteokbokki for people who like spicy food. But the taste is very Korean. For everyone, bulgogi (sweet soy sauce beef) is a safe and tasty choice.
10. What’s your favourite song, band, or musician?
Billie Eilish. I like her style and songs.
11. What’s a book, movie, or show you’d recommend—and why?
Pay It Forward. The movie showed me how one small act of kindness can spread and change lives.
12. If your calendar had one recurring, non-negotiable slot for something fun each week, what would it be?
Playing golf these days. It’s something I really enjoy every week. My goal is to become a double bogey player!
