Fleur is our new Marketing Manager. Learn more about her and the work she’s doing with us.
1. What led you to this next step in your career?
Having previously worked in the power tool industry and most recently in the heavy transport industry, it was exciting to do something different and move into a manufacturing environment working with chemicals.
2. What’s one thing that’s surprised you since joining Chemical Solutions?
The team demonstrates strong cohesion and mutual support, creating an environment where everyone thrives together.
3. Coffee, tea, or something else entirely?
Tea all the way, sorry never been a coffee drinker and don’t like the taste or smell.
4. What’s a small thing that always makes your day better?
Crossing something off my to-do list—it gives me a sense of accomplishment.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Spending time with my kids, family & friends which is really important to me. Oh, and in winter you will find me at the netball courts, as I am the umpire development manager for Karaka Netball Club.
6. Do you have a hidden talent or a fun party trick?
Not a talent but more like something unexpected that I have done and that is 1 bungy jump and 2 solo parachute jumps.
7. What’s a favourite quote you live by—or the best advice you’ve ever received?
“Sh*t happens – deal with it” Life doesn’t always go by plan but it is how you react, overcome unexpected challenges, grow, adapt and move forward.
8. What’s a place that’s shaped who you are—whether it’s where you grew up, travelled to, or lived for a while?
I left NZ when I was 18 to do my OE (overseas experience) in England for 2 years. I started as a nanny but had various other jobs with the entire experience shaping me into a travelled and independent person.
9. What’s one tradition or dish from your culture that you think everyone should experience at least once?
Got to be the traditional Kiwi BBQ.
10. What’s your favourite song, band, or musician?
I don’t really have a favourite band but growing up in the 80’s was the best time with some great music.
11. What’s a book, movie, or show you’d recommend and why?
I do like a good musical, reality shows and have also watched “The Blind Side” many times.
12. If your calendar had one recurring, non-negotiable slot for something fun each week, what would it be?
Catching up with friends, life is too short, enjoy it every day.
