NZ subscribes to GHS (the Globally Harmonised System) for labelling and hazardous substances. In NZ the collective legislation is known as HSNO (Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996).
We are dedicated to legislative compliance in all areas and in HSNO, in particular we are regarded as a leader in early adoption of, and extension of, the legislation. We regularly review to ensure all products and formulated, manufactured, packed, stored and delivered to the NZ compliance standards. We also comply with strict and audited employment standards and Ethical Policy Documents for which we sign off under the terms of International Supply Agreements with our key multi-national partners. Many NZ manufacturers and also imported product do not meet NZ HSNO standards. Under a recent labour policy review, the policing body for HSNO (WorkSafe NZ) outlined severe penalties for non-compliance. Penalties can include manufacturers, distributors and even the end user.
‘Every Drop Counts’, we catch, store and use about half of our water from a huge rainwater tank. And we have installed an active energy management program using LED lighting, and other energy saving methods. We use packaging that can be re-used or recycled and encourage our customers to buy in larger quantities, therefore reducing the amount of fuel and packaging required to deliver the product.
