What do you do at Chemical Solutions and why would your customers call you?
I search for ways to better our customers’ business, ensure they have the optimum product range and most efficient end cost. As their business partner in the long term, my role is to suggest what more we can do to make their business run smoother – such as assisting with technical knowledge and onsite support, market strategies, potential market sectors, training and in-field support.
What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy being relied on to help my customers business and the challenge of every day being different. Because we have contract manufacturing capability, an in-house technical team and sustainable manufacturing; in this business I am always learning something new. Seeing my clients’ yearly growth and success drives me.
What is a typical day like?
No day is the same, I can be working with our technical team to develop a new product range for a customer, assisting customers to compare products, helping new and existing customers with their product ranges – one size does not fit all, and each customer has different needs.
What’s a common question you get from customers?
There are a few such as ‘What is the best product(s) for me?’ and ‘What is the dilution ratio?’ It’s great when customers rely on my knowledge and know I can always be contacted when they need help.
What is one of your favourite memories from the past year?
It was very satisfying being there for customers during Covid-19 lockdowns, ensuring our supply to them didn’t fall short and helping them make a difference to their customers. The Virucide and Viruclear products were especially popular for the fight against Covid.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
My family is very important to me and we spend a lot of time fishing and just being outdoors together. I enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities such as camping, exploring bike riding and just flying RC helicopters. My wife also has a helicopter and my daughter flies her phantom drone. We all also have 1:10 scale nitro and battery cars that keep us busy.
Do you have a hidden talent?
In my spare time I love flying remote control (RC) helicopters, I currently have a Trex 600 nitro and have done a couple of competitions. I have a signed blade from Tareq Alsaadi, who is possibly the greatest RC helicopter stunt operator ever! One of the best feelings is being able to fly inverted and actually be in control.
