Our new Production Planner, Amy, has hit the ground running and is already making a positive difference in our production processes.
Q. What do you do at Chemical Solutions?
A. I am the production planner for Chemical Solutions. I plan what chemical batches need to be made and what pack sizes they need to go into. Unofficially, I’m also the taste tester for the local lunch bars around the area.
Q. What led you to this career step?
A. I’ve been in the manufacturing industry for a few years now, and I’ve always had an interest in planning. I was looking to get back into a planning role when I came across this position at Chemical Solutions and somehow things just fell into place, and here I am.
Q. What is a typical day like?
A. I start the day off with a walk around the factory. I say hello to my teammates and check in to see if there are any issues they need me to have a look into. After that I come back to my desk and plan away. I’m usually in and out of the factory all day.
Q. What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?
A. The SQL database club – we have two members right now. 😊
Q. What’s one thing that surprised you about working at Chemical Solutions?
A. 3.5 months in and I’m still in awe over how awesome this place is. One of the best things about this place is the people and the culture. What surprises me the most about Chemical Solutions is how well the company looks after its staff and how engaged the company is with giving back to the community. In the short time I’ve been here, we’ve celebrated and raised money for Daffodil Day, and we’ve participated in the pink ribbon awareness walk for breast cancer. It really fills my heart with joy. 😊
Q. What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
A. I like to read, watch K-dramas, find delicious places to eat, see the excitement on my toddler’s face when he discovers new things, and spend time with the ones I love.
Q. Do you have a hidden talent?
A. I wish I was able to say my hidden talent was singing, but that talent is way too hidden; I can’t even find it myself. My family tell me I have a thing for remembering birthday dates.
